SHOOTING WITH BLANKS AGAINST sTAEBEK  3rd July 2009

In this Topserien match between Staebek and Team Strommen, it took Team Strommen second half replacement Una Nwajei, only one touch and fifty seconds to score a goal. For the rest of the match, Team Strommen was firing blanks. Nwajei's goal was the sole score for Team Strommen, while Staebek managed three.

Nwajei's score was set up perfectly by Diana Matheson, with a precise through pass. The score did give team Strommen some hope that they could still tie or even win this match. However, it was not to be.

The Team Strommen coach, Janne Jansson, believes that the players often panicked and hurried their shots unnecessarily. "We have to be more confident in important situations where we can score. We can’t expect to win when we don’t take these chances."

Una Nwajei had another chance to score and to send Team Strømmen into the lead just minutes after her first goal. Unfortunately, she put the shot right on the goal keeper. As she said," I didn't take enough time, and I became a little stressed."

The statistics show that Staebek led Team Strommen by only 6 - 5 in good chances, but Staebek was way more effective in scoring from theirs. "Against teams lower than us in the table, we may be able to miss good chances anbd still win. However, against the best teams in the League we cannot afford this luxury. We have to improve our finishing, "says Janne Jansson.

Team Strommen conceded their first goal at 40 minutes. Trine Rønning scored after winning a duel following a corner. After that, in the second half, both Maiken Pape and Kirsty Moore scored and Team Strømmen had to admit defeat.

Team Strømmen are changing names to LSK next season and they are already playing in their new yellow and black jerseys. Yesterday, every spectator who showed up in yellow and black was allowed in for free. Over 300 people took advantage, but they will w3ant to see their team score more often on the chances they create.

Diana Matheson remains among the prolific scorers in the League, tied in 14th place with 6 goals. Rhian Wilkinson was identified by Marie Knudsen as the Team's most influential player.
