2010 Selected to the WNT squad to travel to Cyprus in February for the Cyprus Cup. Played friendly vs Poland in Larnarca (W 3 - 0) Played vs Switzerland in 1st round of Cyprus Cup (W 2-1) Match vs England re-scheduled Saturday 27th February due to wet, unsafe pitch. Started vs England and won 1-0. Came on as a planned substitute in Cyprus Cup match against South Africa. (W 2-1) Started in Cyprus Cup Final vs New Zealand (W 1-0) Selected for Canada squad to China May 2010, but ash cloud prevented travel. 2010 Selected to squad to train 18-27 May in USA at Gaithersburg, MD. and played vs Washington Freedom (T 3:3) Selected to camp from 27 May - 3rd June in Hamar, Norway. Started against Norway in  international friendly and Tied 1:1..

 

Selected to 22 player squad to travel to China for friendly 24th April. Unfortunately, the Iceland ash cloud from a volcano prevented me leaving Norway. Selected to the WNT squad to travel to Cyprus in February for Cyprus Cup. 20th February played friendly vs Poland when Sinclair scored 100th goal. (Won 3-0) Played vs Switzerland in 1st round of Cyprus Cup (W 2-1) Played vs England (W 1-0). Came on at 30 minutes as sub vs South Africa (W 2-1) Won Cyprus Cup finals vs New Zealand 1-0.

 

2009 Rhian was nominated as Canadian Soccer Association's Female Athlete of the Year for 2008. Invited to NWT camp in LA and Rome. Played in all Pool games of Cyprus Cup vs New Zealand (T 1-1) vs Netherlands (W 2-1) & vs Russia (W 2-0) to reach Finals of Cyprus Cup. Started for Canada vs USA after WNT camp in Toronto 17 - 25th May 2009. Selected to WNT camp in USA with matches vs USA in Rochester ( L 0-1) , but injured for 2nd match in Charleston, SC.  Invited to National Camp Florida, 3rd - 14th November

 

2008  Nominated as Canadian Soccer Association's Female Athlete of the Year in 2007. Elected as 2008 Fan's Player of the Year.  From November 2007 returned to National Residential Camp in BC. Toured to Guangzhou, China - Four Nations Tournament. Started as right back against USA L 0-4, China T 0-0, and Finland T 1:1. In Cyprus Cup Tournament, started in defence vs Russia W 2-1, and against Japan in midfield W 3-0. Canada won the Tournament with a 3-2 win against USA Under 20 (no caps awarded.) Started in midfield vs France in Meaux, in a friendly en route back to Canada. Started in all 4 of Canada's matches in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico vs Trinidad and Tobago W 6-0; vs Costa Rica W 1-0; vs Mexico W 1-0; and tied 1-1 vs USA in the finals (L 6-5 on PKs).  Made short tour to Australia in May, L to Matildas 1:2;Tour to Suwon South Korea for Peace Queen Cup Tournament.  Started 14 June 2008 vs Argentina  W 5-0; 16th June 2008 vs South Korea W 3-1.18th June 2008 vs New Zealand W 2-0. Finalists in Peace Queen Cup, Suwon, South Korea. Tied Brazil 1-1 in international friendly warm up game for Olympics. Selected for Olympic Soccer squad to travel to China. Started against New Zealand and Singapore during Olympic staging in Singapore. Started against Argentina in opening pool match of Olympic Games competition. Played vs China in second pool match at Olympics. Started vs China in both games L 1-3 and L 1-2 (despite out shooting opposition 24 - 8. Played friendly in Texas against USA. Scored goal in losing cause. Started both friendly matches against New Zealand in Auckland, W 3-0 and W 5-0, but injured in second game and had to come off.  Selected for squad to XV Pan American Games in Rio Brasil. Started against Uruguay, Ecuador, Jamaica and Brazil, then against USA U20 in semi finals. PanAm Games bronze medalist when came on as a sub vs Mexico. She represented Canada at the FIFA Women's World Cup China 2007...Came on as a sub against Norway, and against Ghana. Started against Australia. In November 2007 returned to National Residential Camp in Vancouver, BC.

 

2006 Named to Canada's CONCACAF Gold Cup roster and started in both matches while scoring one goal ... Played in all four games at the 2006 Peace Queen Cup while scoring one goal ...  Took part in Team Canada's residency camp in Vancouver, BC fall of 2006 in preparation for Gold Cup in November, 2006. Played two games against China and one game against France in August 2006. Called to training camp in Chilliwack, BC in July 2006 ...  Rhian started against Italy in Etobicoke and forced Italy into an own goal in the first 2 minutes. She started against Holland on March 4, 2006. She came on as a sub in the first friendly match against the Netherlands on Wed 1st March 2006, then started against the Netherlands on Saturday 4th March 2006. Rhian came on as a sub against Mexico in two friendly matches in February 2006.
 

2005 Rhian started against Germany on September 4, 2005. She played 90 minutes against Germany on September 1, 2005. Named as W. League's Fury's MVP of 2005.

 

2004 Came on as a sub against Japan on July 30, 2004 . Played against Costa Rica in CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Played against China and Sweden in the 2004 Four Nations Women’s Tournament.

 

2003 Played in all six games at the 2003 Women’s World Cup ... Scored against Australia on September 14, 2003. Scored against Mexico on September 4, 2003. Came on as a sub against Mexico on August 31, 2003. Named to Canada’s 2003 Pan Am Games team. Came on as a sub against Brazil on July 20, 2003. Came on as a sub and scored her first international goal against Brazil on July 17, 2003. Called up to the World Cup Team for the friendly against the USA on April 26, 2003 and made her debut as a substitute.

2010

 

Rhian signed a third one-year contract with Norwegian side LSK Kvinner (formerly Team Strommen) In the 1st match ever played between South Africa and Canada came on as sub at 30 mins during Cyprus Cup, Won the 2010 Cyprus Cup vs New Zealand.  Selected to squad for China, but volcanic ash prevented travel. Selected to squad for USA camp, first ever friendly between a WPSL squad and Canada's WNT squad (T 3-3). Played friendly match scheduled in Hamar, against Norway on 3rd June 2010 (Tied 1:1).

 

2009

 

Rhian was nominated as Canadian Soccer Association's Female Athlete of the Year for 2008.

 

Rhian was honored at the 36th Quebec Sports Gala in Laval in December 2008. She received a "Maurice" (the award named after the Canadiens' star Maurice Richard). This recognizes her as the Quebec Athlete of the Year in a Team Sport.

 

Signed new contract with Team Strommen of Norway. Despite being injured, joined Team Strommen squad for Pool rounds of European Champions League in Croatia. Won first two pool matches by 5-0 & 9-0. Came on in the second half of final pool match vs Everton and lost 1 - 0 by a goal scored in the 2nd minute of overtime.

 

In September 2009, played in Team Strommen side that reached Finals of Norway Cup. Appointed interim captain of Team Strommen in Fall 2009. Selected to Team Strommen for their 3rd consecutive appearance in the Norway Cup final. Lost 1 - 0 on 7th November 2009.

 

2008

 

September 2008: Joined Team Strommen in Norway with Diana Matheson. Helped Team Strommen to silver medal in League play and silver medal as losing finalists in Norway Cup.

 

August 6th 2008 Started and played first Olympic match against Argentina in 2008 Olympics. August 9th Played in tied game with China. August 12 played vs Sweden (L 2-1) but qualified for final 8 Quarter finals. Played vs USA in quarter finals, losing in overtime.

 

Canada has played more matches (24) than any previous season (21). Rhian, with 1907 minutes played has passed Kara Lang's mark set in 2003 0f 1,740 minutes. With their starts against Sweden, Rhian, Candace Chapman and Christine Sinclair tied Kara Lang's mark for 21 starts in a season.

 

 July 16th 2008 Selected to Canada's squad to play in 2008 Beijing Olympics.

 

June 28 2008 Played in all 4 matches, in 4 different positions, and reached finals of the Peace Queen Cup in Suwon, South Korea for the second time.

1st April 2008 played all 4 games of the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament and secured berth in the Olympics - the first Canadian Women's soccer team to ever achieve the honor. 

 

Nominated in 2007 and 2008 for Canadian Soccer Association's Female Athlete of the Year. Elected as 2008 Fan's Player of the Year. Team wins Cyprus Cup in March 2008, and Rhian passes 50 caps mark.

 

Signed with Strømmen FK in Norway in August 2005, and helped the team to second in the Premier League and losing finalist of the Norwegian Premier Cup.

 

Played for Ottawa Fury and won W-League 2005 Scoring  Championship and tied for the Assist Leader with 38 points on 13 goals and 12 assists. Named to the 2005 W League Championship All Tournament team. Named 2005 Player of Year for Ottawa Fury and Federation du Soccer de Quebec. Named to the 2003 W-League All Star team and the 2004 W-League Championship All Tournament team in her first season with the Ottawa Fury of the W-League.
