PASTA, BBQ, FESTIVALS AND A LOSS TO ROA, June 13th
2010
We lost to Roa on Saturday by 3-0. To be quite honest, the score could have
been way more than that.
Some Press reports mention that we were even playing against them in the
first half, but I think this has more to do with them playing badly than us
playing well. We were awful, from start to finish. I am thoroughly
embarrassed.

It is hard to know what to write when you are part of a team which performs
so terribly. We were second best in every aspect of the game. I do not want
to dwell on this game anymore, but I am praying that my teammates,
like me, have spent the last day reflecting on what went wrong. WE need to
know and discuss everything we need to change if we are to have a
successful season.
We heard this week that our next opponent in the quarter finals of the
Norway Cup will be Kolbotn, away, on 14th August.
The other draws are Floya vs Trondheim Eagle, Amazon Grimstad vs Røa and
Arna-Bjørnar - Staebek.
I have been away from the Canada national team camp for a week now, and I
have enjoyed returning to a routine and sleeping in my own bed. I enjoyed
the slow pace of this last week. I trained and prepared my maths homework
and that was about it.
With time on my hands, I decided to assemble my new barbeque and research
how to make pasta. I was taught the art of pasta making in Italy when I was
there almost a year ago. Unfortunately I obviously did not pay close enough
attention. I did make a good attempt though and was pretty satisfied with
the results. I am not sure my roommate loved having bits of spaghetti
strewn around the kitchen, but she did benefit massively from the results.
She enjoyed the meal and you're welcome Nora!

The BBQ is another story and one I do not wish dwell upon. The written
directions did not match the reality and we struggled.

The
only other distraction this week was that it was the Lillestrom festival,
or Byfest. I have enjoyed going to watch the bands, but unlike my
teammates, the "Hillbillies" were not a highlight for me.
