TIED WITH ARNA TO START THE SEASON     April 14th

We played our first game of the season yesterday, and toed against Arna Bjornar. The game ended 0-0 and I thought this was a pretty accurate reflection of the game. It was very even.

 I played at defensive right back and I am therefore slightly more pleased by the result than I would have been had I been playing mid or forward. We lacked punch up front, and rarely if ever, did we challenge the opposition goalie. In defense however, we played a tough physical game and I really liked how we covered for one another all game long. Mistakes were definitely made, as one might expect so early in the season. However, when an error was made, there was a defensive partner always right behind to clean up the mess.

Arna Bjonar looked dangerous a couple times, on the whole they were forced to shoot from distance or were completely shut down before the play could develop.

We play again on Thursday, which is hard to imagine, seeing as I am still sore from yesterday's battle. Next up is Roa, the team that beat us in the League and in the Cup final last year. Against them , it is going to be another tough game. However, I know that this is a team we can beat if we show up and play our hearts out again. If we learned anything from our last games against them, and in today's match against Arna Bjornar, it is that that we need to be more creative up front and to take the little half chances that present themselves around the scoring area.

If can we can make this change and play as well as we have everywhere else, then we will win on Thursday. I am looking forward ti the contest.
