FOUR AGAINST FLOYA 2nd April 2009

We won our last game tonight in this Topserrien Tournament in La Manga Spain. And, it was a 4 - 0 victory, a massive win for our Team Strommen Club. The win was against Floya, a team from up in northern Norway, who have a reputation as a good team, so the victory was even more important for us.

For me, the most important part of our win was the fact that we kept our clean sheet and kept running right up until the final whistle. As I wrote in the last journal, I was disappointed in our attitude in the previous game when we seemed to back off at the end. I was thrilled with this win.

I should mention that two of our goals were scored by our new forward phenomenon Ms. Diana Matheson. While I have been forced to cover at my dreaded and hated position of right back , D has been moved up front, in tandem with our other forward, Una. Now Una is nearly 6 feet tall, so they make an odd looking couple up front. However, there is no question that they get the job done. Both of them netted two goals apiece in this match.

I am off for a team supper and I am then going to call it a night, no matter what time it is!!!
