RHIAN'S SOCCER JOURNALS:
WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM AND RIGHT TO PLAY 14 March 2009
I have contacted many people directly by e-mail to let you know about the
Canadian National Women's Team initiative to raise funds for "Right to Play."
We have spent over a year setting up this initiative, much longer than we
expected. It takes longer to get everything in place than we originally
thought. However, now that we are ready, we are really excited about the idea
and we want it to quickly be up and running.
The idea is to encourage friends, family and soccer fans to pledge a certain amount per goal
we score and for each clean sheet (no goals against) we manage.
In case you are not already
counting, we have 6 goals this season and one shutout. We would appreciate any help that you can give, to spread the word.
Our goal is to raise $5,000,
a difficult challenge in these hard economic times, but I would love to shatter this amount.
