RHIAN'S SOCCER JOURNALS:
RETURN FROM OUR UK TRIP AND CHRISTMAS
26th December 2008
Amy, Diana and I had an amazing trip through Ireland Scotland and Wales, but I think we were all
pretty happy to be heading home at the end of it. We saw, and did, some incredible things over the month we were
away, and I think it may take a few weeks, and some reviewing of our pictures, to fully comprehend everything we
managed to achieve.
Before we split up to return home, Amy asked us each of us to name the three best parts of
the trip.
I had no answer for her, because everything was so recent and bunched together. It is only after more thought that I would say
the following rank as my three best memories, but not in order:
1 - hiking and climbing in North Wales as both treks we
made were phenomenal;

2 - spending Amy's 25th birthday in a freezing barn called "Grubb's Farm" in Haltwhistle
in the North of England, and although this was not a comfortable event, I can
promise you that it is also not one I will soon forget;

3 - going to a stand-up comedy show in London, because even
though the musicals we saw were out of this world, it was the comedy show that
was the most fun and the most memorable.
Getting home was wonderful. It is always great to come home for the holidays and to see friends and family.
In addition, on 16th December, I was invited as guest of honor at Baie d'Urfe's Red Barn community centre, and I enjoyed
meeting all the young women soccer players and their parents in the town.

Now, we have had a good Christmas, and I am waiting anxiously for the CSA to announce our next
coach and what the Association's plans are going to be for the next few months. I miss my teammates, and I am hoping that
even though we may not have any big tournaments in the next few years, that we will still have some regular camps and matches
to keep us as sharp, fit and united.

I send my best wishes to all friends and fans, and wish everyone a good holiday and every success in the New
Year.
