Since Rhian has not yet mentioned any of my favorite parts of this trip, and since my mom has personally requested
that Rhian add more journals, I thought I would try to write one to add to Rhian's latest.
My top three Ireland moments, in ascending order are:
3. Giants Causeway. It was pretty well at my insistence that we had to drive all the way up to the North of Ireland just
to see this. So, I am glad it didn't disappoint. The Causeway is basically a rock formation reaching out into the ocean,
made up of large hexagonal rocks (These rocks look like a giant version of the rocks from the Matheson's back patio).
Legend has it that the Giants' Causeway was a bridge built by giants to an island, but the rest of it was destroyed. The
scenery is amazing and worth the drive in itself.
Muckross Abbey at dusk We went for a walk in Killarney National Park and we made it to the ruins of an old
abbey just as the sun had set. This meant that it was still bright enough to see outside, but the interior of the abbey was
almost pitch black in places. Needless to say, this made for an amazing, and extremely spooky, tour of the old building.

You can walk right into an old courtyard with a yew tree growing in it, and even climb up a few
steps to short towers. The best
part however, must have been when an American tourist, also exploring the abbey, took the opportunity to scare the pants
off Rhian through a dark window!
1.Knocknarea mountain just South of Sligo. The area is meant to be
the site of Queen Mauve's tomb, and the hike up the mountain to see it was awesome. There was the green Irish countryside
on one side, and then the ocean on the other. We added a rock to the giant cairn on top so that Queen Mauve's spirit would be
with us (or so our guide book promised!); The hike and the view were one of a kind!

Ok, that's all from me!. Now we will just see if anything can top these three choices.
