NORWEGIAN CORRESPONDENT PER KRISTIANSEN

One of the hazards of playing overseas in Scandinavia is that match reports and newspaper articles, even team websites, are written in the local language. In the case of Rhian, Diana and Amy, Norwegian soccer receives good coverage, not just from the Team Strommen website, but from local and national newspapers, but all the coverage is in Norwegian.

Fortunately, Rhian has a good friend in Per Kristiansen who has agreed to act as our translator, and bring some of the Topserrien League action, and the particularities of Norwegian soccer, to a North American audience.

Per started out in soccer administration as part of the Team Strommen marketing team in 2003. A large part of his responsibility at this time was in setting up and maintaining the team's website. By 2004, this responsibility had expanded to that of communications director, providing information to the Board.

From 2005 - 2007 Per worked as Chairman of the Team Strommen Club. In 2008, he was instrumental in signing Rhian and Diana to contracts with Team Strommen. He continues to assist the Club with training duties, administration, the 2008 Cup Final preparations and numerous other general Club responsibilities. He is even hard at work in designing a new Team Strommen website.

Of course, all Per's Team Strommen duties were undertaken as a volunteer. He worked from 2001 - 2004 with Ringnes AS (later bought out by Carlsberg). With them, he was the IT specialist responsible for Unix, Oracle and some main Windows machines.

From 2004 to the present, he has worked as an IT consultant with Ementor Norge AS, where he is responsible for Unix and Oracle projects. From 2008 into 2009, he has been subcontracted as project manager to Microsoft Norway to supervise the transition of 4 hospitals from WinXP to the new platform WinVista.
