Welcome to my website. Since 1st March 2006 , when we started the site we have received
over 69,000 hits. Thank you.
There is a real demand for news on the National Women's Team.
I have played soccer since I was 5 years
old, and have been fortunate to play for some excellent teams from around the
world. I will provide regular news, not just about what is happening in Canadian
soccer, but insights into what it means to be a woman soccer player in the
Canadian Soccer Association and playing in FIFA World Cups and at the Olympic
Games.
I have written on my early soccer years in Quebec Soccer,
my NCAA soccer career with the Lady Vols of the University of Tennessee, the W.
League's Ottawa Fury and Norway's Team Strommen of the Topserrien league. Please let me know if there is
other news you would like to see
on my site, and please keep visiting as often as possible.

RHIAN'S SOCCER JOURNALS:
FOOTLOOSE & FANCY FREE IN BEIJING 21 August 2008
Hmmm!! ... I guess I can ask to be forgiven for the break I have taken in writing my journals. I do apologize though, as I
am sure everyone is curious as to what the team has been up to since our loss against the USA.
I think there have been quite a few rumors and reports back home that we were kicked out of the Olympic Village and
no longer made welcome, and more of this sort. None of this is quite true. After we were eliminated in Shanghai, we flew back to Beijing and were without rooms there for a few days. The reasons
for this are complex, but basically what happened is that when a team is eliminated, they
normally have 24 hours to leave the
Olympic Village and the Games. However, we had previously arranged with the Canadian Olympic Committee to stay until
the end of

MEDIA REPORTS:
OLYMPICS MARK HIGHLIGHT OF 2008 SEASON
22nd August 2008 From CSA Report
With
the conclusion of the Women's Olympic Football Tournament, one can not help but
look back on Canada's 2008 season. This year was marked by the Association's
first-ever participation in the Women's Olympic Football Tournament and its
first in an Olympic Games since 1984. The team played in a record 24
international matches and gained valuable experience by reaching the
quarter-final stage in China. "Our team has had a tremendous experience here at the Olympic Games," said coach Even Pellerud. "Although
it was a rough program with games in different cities, the organization was very good, as was the food and accommodation."

RHIAN'S SOCCER JOURNALS:
END OF OUR 2008 OLYMPICS JOURNEY 16 August 2008
I don’t really know what to write. Actually I don't want to write anything, but I have decided that, if anything, writing this journal will be therapeutic
for me.
There isn’t much I can say about the game except that we worked our butts off, and left everything we had out on the
field. The United States played better than we did on the night, and frankly, they deserved the win. Of course, this does not make
the pain of losing the match any easier. When the final whistle blew most of us fell to
the floor and stayed there for a long time, totally exhausted, but also shattered, We really, REALLY wanted that win, and we honestly
believed that this would finally be the day when we took it to the States and beat them.
